Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 10, 2026

KidsBuddy is designed for children in kindergarten through 5th grade (ages 5–11) and the adults who care for them. Protecting children's privacy is central to how we build and maintain our platform.

1. Information Collected from Children

We do not collect, solicit, or retain any personal information from children. Visitors can play our games without providing a name, email address, account login, or any other personal identifier.

To ensure a safe environment, our platform features:

  • No user account creation or registration for children.
  • No text chat, messaging features, or forums.
  • No media uploads or user-generated content sections.
  • No capability for children to communicate with other users or post public content.

2. Game Progress & Local Storage

Any game scores, tokens, stars, or progress milestones are stored locally on your device via your web browser's local storage. This data is never transmitted to our servers or any third parties. Clearing your browser data or cache will permanently delete this information. Because this data remains entirely on your physical device, we have no access to it.

3. Analytics, Cookies, and Internal Operations

We do not use behavioral tracking cookies, we do not engage in behavioral advertising targeted at children, and we do not build marketing profiles.

To maintain and improve our site, we use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to track non–personally–identifying, aggregate site usage (such as total page views and which games are most popular). We have strictly configured our analytics tracking to support only our internal website operations under COPPA guidelines. Specifically:

  • No Behavioral Tracking: All advertising features, personalized tracking signals (including Google Signals), and data sharing with other Google services are completely disabled.
  • Transient IP Processing: IP addresses are not stored or logged by us or our analytics provider. They are processed transiently at the moment of connection solely to derive coarse, non-precise regional data (such as country or state) for aggregate site traffic monitoring, and are then immediately discarded.
  • First-Party Analytics Cookies: To accurately count unique visitors without identifying them, our analytics tool sets a basic first-party cookie. This cookie contains a random, non-personal identifier used strictly for aggregate measurement (e.g., distinguishing a return visitor from a new visitor). It is never linked to any child's identity or used for cross-site behavioral tracking.
  • No Profiling: Technical data is never aggregated into marketing profiles or linked to individual children.

4. Third-Party Service Providers

We do not sell, rent, or share any user data. We partner only with infrastructure, hosting, and analytics providers that are contractually or technically restricted to processing data strictly necessary to deliver and support the internal operations of the website.

5. Future Accounts & Policy Changes

If we introduce optional features in the future, such as server-side progress saving or parental subscriptions, those features will be managed entirely by verified parents or educators—never by children. We will update this Privacy Policy, provide conspicuous notice on our platform, and obtain any legally required consent prior to changing our data collection practices.

6. COPPA Compliance & Parental Rights

We strictly adhere to the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Because we do not collect personal information from children, we do not maintain a database for parents to review or delete. However, if you believe a child has inadvertently bypassed our restrictions and transmitted personal information to us, please contact us immediately. We will take immediate steps to delete that information from our system logs.
